In EMIS Web, it's crucial to ensure that patient records are accurately maintained to facilitate seamless medical processes. If an incorrect date of death has been recorded or if a patient has been mistakenly marked as inactive, you will need to adjust the patient’s registration details and possibly request a new deduction. Here’s how to manage these adjustments:
Correcting Date of Death or Reactivating Registration
Begin by accessing the Registration Workflow in EMIS Web. Navigate through the EMIS Web menu by selecting Workflow > Workflow Manager > Registration. This will lead you to the screen where you handle registration statuses, ensuring that you have the appropriate RBAC activity permissions, specifically B1680 Manage Demographic Duplicate Records and B0065 Undecease Patient, in your role profile.
Removing Incorrect Date of Death
- Once in the Registration Workflow, select Actions > Manual Status Modification.
- Select the patient whose record you need to amend.
- Choose the incorrect status, click Delete Status, and confirm by clicking Yes.
Following the correction, you’ll want to ensure that the patient is back to Active status. If the patient remains Active, proceed to request another deduction in the action notes, clarifying the correction, like "Correcting Date of Death".
Reactivating Patient Registration
If you need to reactivate a patient's registration, manually add an active status through the Notification of Registration screen within the same menu path, thus ensuring that the patient's profile accurately reflects their current status.
"Managing registration statuses not only preserves accurate patient data but also ensures the privacy and integrity of medical records."
