How do I reject a misrouted lab report in EMIS Web, and what happens to the report afterward?

To reject a misrouted lab report in EMIS Web, begin by accessing the Workflow Manager. From the EMIS Web menu, select Workflow Manager, then navigate to Lab Reports in the navigation pane.

Unmatched Lab Reports

In the Lab Reports section, look for the Unmatched mailbox, which contains all lab reports that haven't been matched to a patient or user. This is where you can find reports that may have been misrouted to your organisation.

Select the report you want to reject. On the ribbon, click Reject. You will be prompted to enter a reason for the rejection in the Rejection Reason field. Once completed, click Reject again to finalise the process.

"Rejecting misrouted lab reports directly in EMIS Web helps maintain accuracy and reduces administrative workload, ensuring that only relevant information is processed by your organisation."

After Rejection

Once rejected, the lab report is moved to the Archived mailbox, and a note is added to the History pane for reference. Please be aware that no automatic rejection notification is sent to the originating organisation. It's crucial to manually inform them of the report's rejection and the reason, ensuring they can take appropriate action to resend the report to the correct recipient.
