To record a sample taken for a test request in the Diary screen of EMIS Web, follow the steps below:
Access the Diary
Begin by navigating to the Diary within EMIS Web. Click on the EMIS Web menu, then point to Care Record, and select Diary from the dropdown menu. If you have not selected a patient, you will be prompted to choose one before proceeding.
Identify the Test Request
In the Diary, locate the Test Requests section. Here, you will find the details of test requests associated with the selected patient. Click on Open next to the test request you want to update.
Record the Sample Taken
Once you have opened the Test Request, the Workflow Manager Task screen will appear. Here, you may edit the test request details if necessary. On the ribbon situated at the top of the screen, click on Sample Test Request to record that a sample has been taken. Once recorded, the test request will show as Awaiting Result in the Diary and move to the Pending Results section of the Inbox in Test Requests.
This functionality not only aids in reducing administrative workload but ensures accuracy and traceability in patient care processes.
Close the Task Screen
After successfully recording the sample, click Close on the Workflow Manager Task screen ribbon to return to the main Diary screen.
Efficiently managing and recording test requests not only enhances workflow but ensures accurate and timely processing of patient information. This streamlined approach allows clinicians and administrative staff to focus on delivering patient-centred care.
