Handling unmatched transactions in the EMIS Web Registration Workflow is crucial for maintaining accurate patient records. Unmatched transactions typically occur when the system receives transactions from your trading partner that it cannot match to a patient due to missing or incorrect NHS or transaction numbers. Here's how you can manage these effectively:
Access the Registration Workflow
First, ensure you have the necessary permissions by having RBAC activity B1680 in your role profile. Then, click the EMIS Web menu, go to Workflow, select Workflow Manager, and then choose Registration in the navigation pane.
Resolve Unmatched Transactions
- Check the Unmatched section in GP Links - Inbox.
- Click on the transaction in question to view details in the Transaction Information pane.
- Depending on the details, either delete the task if resolved or reprocess the transaction via the Reprocess button on the ribbon. If successfully matched, they'll be moved to the correct section.
- If necessary, contact the Health Authority to acquire additional information about these transactions.
When efficiently handled, unmatched transactions ensure that all patient records are up-to-date, preventing discrepancies and saving valuable administration time.
Amend NHS Numbers
If an unmatched transaction is due to an incorrect NHS number on a patient’s record, use the Amend Patient Identifier option:
- Select the patient under Actions in the Registration Workflow ribbon.
- Enter the correct NHS number and click OK.
Upon the next system transmission, transactions should align correctly and be removed from the Unmatched folder.
