Access Referral Management

Begin by navigating to the Workflow Manager within EMIS Web. Select Referral Management in the navigation pane to display the Referral Management screen. Within this section, choose Transmission Errors from the Referral Tasks category to view any error messages recorded.

Investigate Error Messages

Click on each transmission error message to review the details. Each error provides specific causes and recommended actions:

  • Unable to update non-interface referral: This often occurs when an attachment has been uploaded directly on the eRS portal, severing the link with EMIS Web. Use the UBRN to search on the eRS portal, verify whether the letter is correctly attached and then complete the task in Workflow Manager.
  • Unable to update frozen referral: Indicating that the referral is locked from updates due to a previous Send selection. While updates via EMIS Web are restricted, you can manage additional information directly through the eRS portal.
  • Error Sending: In this case, attempt to Resend from the ribbon in EMIS Web. If this does not resolve the issue, the next steps might involve contacting support.
  • Any Other Message: It's recommended to contact EMIS Support for guidance.

When to Resend or Contact Support

For the majority of error messages like "Error Sending," a Resend attempt is appropriate. Only if the resend fails or if the error specifically suggests, should support be contacted. Ensure important details like the UBRN are ready to assist the support team in providing prompt assistance.
