How do I enable and configure Access Record Structured functionality in EMIS Web for my organisation?

Overview

Access Record Structured allows other accredited clinical systems to retrieve structured, coded patient information from your EMIS Web system for direct patient care. Currently, only medications and allergies are fully live and routinely shared. This functionality can save time, prevent transcription errors, and improve continuity of care between services.

Access Record Structured can reduce administrative workload by providing external clinicians with key patient information in a coded format, cutting down on manual tasks.

Steps to Enable Access Record Structured

  • From the EMIS Web menu, select Configuration > Organisation Configuration.
  • In the navigation pane, click Organisation.
  • On the ribbon, select Edit to open the Edit Organisation screen.
  • Choose GP Connect Configuration on the left.
  • Make sure Structured Record is selected. If you don’t see this option, contact the EMIS deployment team.
  • Click OK to save your changes.
