Configuring lab report filing options in EMIS Web is essential for streamlining the handling of medical test results in your organisation. This guide will help you set up the necessary configurations for lab reports, such as user comment prompts for abnormal results.
Accessing Lab Reports
To begin configuring lab reports, access the Lab Reports section in Workflow Manager. Click the EMIS Web menu, select Workflow Manager, and then click Lab Reports in the navigation pane. Ensure you have the appropriate RBAC activities in your role profile to access this section.
Configuring User Comments
Adding user comments helps contextualise lab results, especially for abnormal findings which may require further follow-up.
- In the Organisation Options of Workflow Manager, click Lab Reports Configuration.
- In the User Comments pane, click Add to insert a new comment.
- Type your desired comment, select whether it applies to Normal Results or Abnormal Results, and decide if it should be the default comment.
Setting Filing Options
To improve efficiency, setting the appropriate filing options is crucial:
- In the Filing Options section, choose to prompt for comments if Abnormal.
- You can also choose to complete test requests after sampling to finalise the requests automatically post-sampling.
- Click OK to save your options.
