Configuring and Accessing Registration Workflow for Adding New Patients
To configure and access the Registration Workflow in EMIS Web, you need the appropriate role in your user profile. Ensure you have RBAC activity B1680, which allows you to manage demographic duplicate records.
Accessing Registration Workflow
- Begin by clicking the EMIS Web menu.
- Navigate to Workflow and select Workflow Manager.
- In the navigation pane, click Registration.
New Patient Registration Process
The Registration Workflow facilitates the exchange of registration information with trading partners. To register a new patient:
- Once in the Registration Workflow, you can add new patient details under the New Registrations section of the GP Links - Outbox.
- Fill in all mandatory fields on the GP Links Information screen. Ensure all details such as NHS number and demographic information are accurate.
- Set the transaction status to Ready to send if all information is complete and confirmed.
- After submission, your trading partner can accept or reject the registration.
"Registration Workflow ensures all patient registration changes are synchronised efficiently between organisations, reducing manual data entry and minimizing errors."
Handling Status Changes
Once registered, the patient’s status updates based on the trading partner's response, such as awaiting medical records or registration confirmation.
Ensure you monitor transaction statuses regularly to resolve any discrepancies or unacknowledged registrations promptly. This helps maintain an accurate and up-to-date patient list.
