To complete an inbound eRS Provider booking task and ensure accurate recording of a referral in EMIS Web, follow these steps:
Accessing the Referral Management
- Log into EMIS Web using your smartcard.
- Click on the Workflow Manager, and select Referral Management from the navigation pane.
- Locate and click on eRS Provider Bookings in the navigation pane.
Completing the eRS Provider Booking Task
- Select the eRS Provider booking task from the right-hand pane.
- On the ribbon, click Open Portal to launch the eRS Provider portal within EMIS Web.
- Review the referral details including any attached documents.
Working seamlessly between the EMIS Web and the eRS Provider portal streamlines the process, ensuring referrals are properly documented and easily accessible within patient records.
Finalising the Referral in Patient Administration
- After reviewing the referral, return to EMIS Web.
- On the ribbon, click Complete Task to finalise and record the referral in the patient’s Care Record.
- If any referral letters were downloaded, ensure they comply with local information governance policies before attaching them to the patient’s record via the "Attach Document" feature.
Handling Errors and Incomplete Tasks
- If you encounter an error, such as during transmission, check the Transmission Errors section in the Referral Management pane and follow the recommended steps to resolve the issue.
- Incomplete tasks must be reviewed and resolved to maintain an up-to-date record of patient referrals.
