To annotate and save changes to a document in EMIS Web, follow these steps:

1. **Access the Documents Screen:** In EMIS Web, navigate to the Care Record and select Documents. If a patient is not already selected, you will be prompted to choose one.

2. **Select the Document:** Locate the document you wish to annotate. You can only edit documents from the Documents screen.

3. **Convert to PDF:** Click on Annotate. This function will convert the document (whether it's a .doc, .docx, .txt, .rtf, .ket, or .html) into a PDF format, which allows annotation.

4. **Annotate the Document:** Use the available annotation tools to add notes or highlights to your document. Any changes made will be visible when printed or viewed later.

5. **Save Your Changes:** Once you've completed your annotations, click on Save to apply your changes. This ensures that all modifications are retained in the annotated PDF.

Annotations allow clinicians to highlight important details in documents quickly, making vital information easily accessible for other healthcare professionals – saving time and ensuring better patient care.
