Hero Health - EMIS Web Support Guide

How can I re-request or generate a new UBRN when an eRS referral hasn’t been assigned one?

To manage e-Referral Service (eRS) referrals effectively in EMIS Web, the process of generating a Unique Booking Reference Number (UBRN) is crucial. If a referral hasn't received a UBRN, you can re-request it or generate a new one using the Referral Management section. Here's how:

Steps to Re-Request or Generate a New UBRN

  • Firstly, access the Referral Management by navigating through the EMIS Web menu. Click on Workflow Manager and then select Referral Management in the navigation pane.
  • Within the Referral Tasks section on the navigation pane, click on Pending UBRN. This will display any eRS referrals that are waiting for a UBRN in the right-hand pane.
  • Select the required referral from the displayed list.
  • On the ribbon at the top, click Re-request UBRN. This action launches eRS within EMIS Web, subsequently generating a UBRN for the selected referral.
By automating and managing each step of the eRS referral process through Referral Management, healthcare providers can ensure prompt processing, reduce administrative burden, and maintain efficient patient care workflows.

Managing referrals accurately can not only ensure that patient information is complete but also significantly reduce potential delays in patient care. Using EMIS Web's Referral Management tool facilitates a more streamlined approach to handling eRS referrals efficiently.
