To complete a test request directly from the Lab Reports screen in EMIS Web, follow these steps:
Access Lab Reports
Begin by clicking the EMIS Web menu, selecting Workflow Manager, and then choosing Lab Reports from the navigation pane.
Locate the Lab Report
- Within the navigation pane, click Inbox to see lab reports that await filing or archiving.
- Identify and click the specific lab report you wish to process in the right-hand pane.
File the Lab Report
- Use the File No Comment option if you wish to file the report without adding notes. If your practice uses SMS messaging, you can complete the Send SMS screen to notify the patient.
- Alternatively, choose File And Comment to include specific remarks. Complete the required fields on the File And Comment screen.
Completing test requests directly from the Lab Reports screen centralises workflow management, saving valuable time and reducing the complexity of handling separate tasks.
Approve the Test Request
- Check the box next to the test request associated with the lab report you selected.
- Click Complete to move the report and its test request to the Filed state within the Lab Reports Inbox, marked by a green tick.
- The test request is shifted to the Request Complete section in Test Requests and the Completed Test Requests section in the Diary.
If you file a lab report without associating it with the test request, the request remains in the Pending Results section of Test Requests until addressed.
Tip: You can also complete a test request from the Workflow Manager Task screen by accessing Open Report and following the final steps outlined above.
