To add or remove pages, sections, or clinical codes within a custom test request template in EMIS Web, follow these steps:

Accessing the Template Manager

Begin by opening EMIS Web, click the EMIS Web menu, point to Configuration, and select Template Manager.

Once in the Template Manager:

  • Navigate to the Templates and Protocols tab.
  • Select or create a folder to store your test request template.
  • Copy the Test Request Template from the EMIS Library folder into your designated folder.
  • Click Edit on the ribbon to modify the template.

Editing the Template

In the Template Builder screen, you can make specific modifications:

  • Add a New Page: Select New Page from the Template Layout Components and position it as needed within the template.
  • Add a New Section: Choose New Section from Template Layout Components and specify details such as specimen type and title in the Test Request Section Properties screen.
  • Add a Clinical Code: From the Data Entry Components, drag a Clinical Code to the appropriate section, search and select the necessary clinical term, and finalize configurations in the Clinical Code Properties screen.

Ensure all changes are saved by clicking Save and Close once you have completed editing the template.

Having customised test request templates readily available means faster access to patient needs, reducing time spent on administrative tasks and enhancing productivity in clinical settings.
