What is Hero Health?

Hero is a platform used by NHS GPs to improve the way in which they communicate with patients. Hero integrates with existing systems used by healthcare professionals, and aims to make digital engagement easier for patients and professionals.

Using Hero, practices can:

  • Send SMS, Email and NHS App messages to patients
  • Invite patients to submit information through structured questionnaires
  • Accept online bookings
  • Offer care navigation and website triage for new enquiries

We're used in 100s of NHS GP and community services across England and Wales. Our mission is simple: we exist to make healthcare services more digitally accessible for patients and less administratively intensive for clinicians. Hero Health is built to support patients in receiving timely, effective care and to empower healthcare providers by streamlining the flow of information.

Hero is not a data controller of patient data - data is controlled either by the NHS itself, or by GP practices or providers. Hero acts as a data processor of patient data.

Online Appointment Booking

With Hero Health, practices can empower patients to schedule GP appointments quickly online or via SMS, avoiding phone queues and waiting times.

Care Navigation and Online Consultations

Hero Health's Care Navigation tool allows patients to visit a practice's website, and Care Navigate to the appropriate service. Where a service can't be accessed directly, patients can submit a simple web-based form into the practice for triage and review. Clinicians can use Hero's messaging to respond with the appropriate care, often without requiring an in-person visit.

Streamlined Communication

Our secure messaging feature lets practices and patients exchange information conveniently.

Video Consultations

Through Hero Health's integrated video call technology, you can meet with your GP or clinician from the comfort of your home, reducing travel time and increasing your access to care.
